As the front page of our website shows, St. Boniface Hospital has recently had a growth spurt with the addition of space for 30 new beds. Construction went as planned, and we now have two beautiful new wards and a much larger waiting area.
When we were nearing completion of the interior painting and laying of the tile floors, the question of furnishings became more urgent. Beds, tables, and chairs among other things were needed to accommodate the increased number of patients and family members who would be coming here for care.
Food for the Poor has been a generous partner with the St. Boniface Haiti Foundation. On a stop in to their offices in Port au Prince one day in early June, we asked about availability of beds and furniture. The timing was perfect. A donation of medical equipment and furniture had just come into their receiving area. They were able to provide us with enough beds to fill our new wards.

The addition looks beautiful--a great improvement.
