New Paint at Kay Granmoun

By Ellen on September 14 2009, 6:35pm

Residents and visitors to Queen of Peace home, or Kay Granmoun are happy to see a wonderful change to the building. Since the home was built it has been unpainted grey concrete.  While the elderly, or granmoun, who live there are given good care, food and a warm dry, home it has often been the comment of visitors that it would be nice to brighten the building up.  The generous support of Queen of Peace Parish in Gainesville, Florida provides all of the basics for the people who live there, but budget constraints have limited the amount of beautification that could be done.  A recent donation collected from friends and associates of Sr. Maureen Lewis, SND, and Sr. Ellen Shea, RSM has allowed us to purchase paint and brighten the lives of our residents.

The job was started in August after getting the consensus of the granmoun on which colour they would prefer.  The exterior and interior of the rooms were completed in this beautiful two-tone blue.  More photos can be seen here.
