Just thought I'd give a snapshot of how our days are here. Here's a list of what's going on while I'm sitting at my computer at 11:00 am:
- malnutrition prevention program is underway, which means there are about 100 women waiting by the depot to receive rations for their children. This is a PREVENTION program for families with children under 2 years of age. Once a month they receive some extra food.
- Healing Hands for Haiti team is doing treatments and training in the new men's ward. They are treating our four paraplegic men and training the nursing staff and family members. There's lots of laughing going on, the level of motivation by the men and our staff is amazing.
- the hospital is almost at capacity right now with a variety of patients.
- malnutrition recuperation program is being held under the sapotille tree. This is our usual Tuesday program for RECUPERATION of malnourished children. Over 40 families will receive rations today, including some tilapia from our fish pond project
- there's lots of hammering going as furniture is being built for the hospital under the trees
- vehicle maintenance is going on in the yard too - two amulances with their hoods up and mechanics looking at them, and as usual a few bystanders offering advice
- patients going in and out of the nutrition center, checking in with our HIV/AIDS and TB programs. Women here with babies for their vaccinations
- Several people lined up at the pharmacy window and the cashier
- depot being rearranged to receive a large donation of food for the community - not very much room.
Busy, busy, busy

Hi Ellen,
I am a nurse who spent 3 weeks on the Comfort earlier this month. I got very close to a patient who we discharged to St. Boniface and I am anxious to see how she is doing. Please email me if this is possible. I am relieved that she is at what seems like such a wonderful place. Thanks for all the good work you do.
