Lois Sweet, who passed away in Concord, Ma. last week, spent 27 years working with St. Boniface to help the people of Haiti.

Doctors and community health workers at St. Boniface Hospital in Fond-des-Blancs say cholera has reached our catchment area. 

The challenges we've met head-on in 2010 and exciting developments ahead for 2011.

St. Boniface's Xavier House in Port-au-Prince gives young men from Fond des Blancs the chance to complete high school and go onto college. One extraordinary young man has made it all the way to graduate school at Carnegie Mellon University. 

While there are still no reports of cholera inside St. Boniface Hospital's immediate catchment area, our teams are reaching out to other rural communities to treat cholera patients. 

Fourteen-year-old Junior, who is visiting the Boston area for surgery, took a break in treatment for a trip to the home of New England's pro football and soccer teams.

St. Boniface Hospital has been extremely privileged to host an orthopedic surgery team from Seville Spain.  One week ago Dr. Pablo Garcia, Dr. David Sanchez and Dr. Jorge Lucas made the trip down to Fonds des Blancs, Haiti.

Conor Shapiro's life as a community organizer and hospital administrator in rural Haiti had always been a challenge. And then the earthquake struck.

There is a wide-scale awareness campaign underway in the country with the government and NGOs working to prevent new cases and preparing for patients. St. Boniface Hospital is no exception.
