Patients Begin Arriving from USNS Comfort

.Patients being carried to the hospital as locals look on.

Patients being carried to the hospital from the landing field.

The first 2 patients from the USNS Comfort arrived today and 25 more are expected tomorrow. Excitement in the community is very high as things begin to heat up in Fond des Blancs.  After weeks of frustration, we are finally able to care for seriously ill and injured patients in our hospital.   The helicopter was so large, the soccer field was too small to land.  The landing strip buit by Pastor Thomas a few years ago and never used, because they could not get government aprroval, was put into service.
