The St. Boniface Haiti Foundation is concerned about the needs of all the children in its catchment area including orphans and those who are affected by the AIDS epidemic (OVC). Children in rural areas are especially vulnerable due to a lack of basic social services. We work with our partners to address the problems and improve the lives of the children in our catchment area.
Some of the problems that the St. Boniface Haiti Foundation helps the children face include:
Education: giving scholarships that cover school fees, uniforms, books, and supplies
Healthcare: providing immunizations to children, well-baby care through the first year, fluoride treatments in schools, and free care to those in need
Nutrition: distributing food through our nutrition programs and to orphans and vulnerable children, and, during this time of food crisis distributing high nutritional supplements to those most in need
Social support: offering key family-based social services to help children deal with psychological trauma and other issues that they face
The foundation is working on a partnership with UNICEF and CRS to expand hospital and community-based interventions. Ensuring that all children, especially orphans and those children affected by AIDS, receive the care they need and deserve is central to the mission of the St. Boniface Haiti Foundation.
