The St. Boniface Haiti Foundation is involved in a wide range of community development projects aimed at improving the quality of life. We provide crucial social services and economic development support to the communities we serve. The desperate poverty among the people in our catchment area creates social and economic shock waves throughout the greater community. Our efforts are aimed at addressing poverty at its roots.
The St. Boniface Haiti Foundation’s Community Development initiatives include building wells to provide access to clean drinking water, building houses to give families a place to live, addressing the needs of the most vulnerable – the children and the elderly, and implementing projects that are self-sustainable that will provide food and employment for people.
The participation of the local community in designing, implementing, and evaluating projects is vital to the success of our community development initiatives. Local peasant cooperatives, child right’s committees, and youth groups are also involved and contribute to the effectiveness and sustainability of all our work. The Haitian government, bilateral and multilateral partner organizations, non-governmental organizations and private donors sustain these important components of the foundation’s work.
