The St. Boniface Haiti Foundation recognizes that part of the solution to providing access to education for children involves increasing the capacity of schools. We are committed to building new schools and repairing and expanding current schools in the Fond des Blancs area.

Our Schools ANEW! program builds and expands schools in poor areas in partnership with the Catholic church in Fond des Blancs and Fe y Alegria, a Jesuit group that works with the communities in developing countries to provide a broad-based education. These schools will teach not only the required curriculum, but also will teach the children the knowledge and skills necessary to be productive members of Haitian society.

The first schools to be built under this program will be in the very poor villages of Kapin and Chacha. Meetings between Fe y Alegria and the local community have taken place and the community has embraced their side of the partnership. They are welcoming the opportunity to have their children attend these new schools and have renewed hope for a better future for their children.
