Prior to his retirement, Jim was Vice Chairman of Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman), responsible for the overall direction and management of the firm. Over the course of his career he has been a senior advisor on strategic issues to a multitude of organizations including UPS, CSX/Sea-Land, AT&T, Agility, The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and Merck. He is the Chairman of the Board of Shawmut Construction and The Chairman of the Advisory Board of Planned Parenthood Global. He is also a member of the board of directors of CDM Smith, Saint Boniface Haiti Foundation, and Simplified Logistics and a member of the corporation of The Perkins School for the Blind. He is also a past director of ProBuild, Care Group, Horizon Lines, Transplace, MTG, Oxfam, The Centers For Disease Control Foundation, Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science and Outward Bound. He holds a Masters Director Certification from the Corporate Directors Group, a national board director education organization. Jim received a B.S. in Engineering from Columbia University and a M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
