Maternal, Neonatal & Child Health

HEI/SBH’s Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health (MNCH) programs are helping women and children thrive in southern Haiti.

Our MNCH program addresses a critical need for improved healthcare for mothers and their children in Haiti.

Our state-of-the-art maternal health center, pediatrics department, and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) provide the only accessible and affordable care for high-risk patients among the more than 2.3 million people who live in southern Haiti.

Because of our reputation for delivering high-quality, affordable care, women and their families come from hours away to be treated by our staff, knowing they will never be turned away because of their ability to pay or the severity of their case.

  • HEI/SBH is increasing access to obstetric care in Haiti, where 75% of women give birth at home without a skilled birth attendant.

  • Ours is the only fully functional, 24/7 neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in southern Haiti.

  • We provide a wide range of health services to children, including primary care, emergency medicine, and treatment for malnutrition.
